I actually only posted this little rant 2 years ago because I saw a similar post on a semi-famous UI design blog, and I emailed the author with my own rant. He said if I put it into a blog post of my own, he&#039;d link to it, which he did here

It&#039;s appropriate you would bring it up again now, though, because the Mac App Store that rolled out in 10.6 a couple months ago eliminates &lt;i&gt;most&lt;/i&gt; of the complaints made in this post, although it does introduce a whole new set of other less significant (for average consumers) complaints. 

I&#039;m also trying to work up a little AppleScript or Automator program right now to address a very specific request I have for a GPS mapping service I use, and if I get it working I&#039;ll post it on the blog.</description>
