St Patrick's Day
A cold and snowy St. Patrick's Day in Munich. They hold the St. Patrick's Day festivals on the Sunday before the actual holiday. It turned out to be a cold and snowy day. I missed the parade and got to the festival a little late, when most sane people were clearning out. We had some nice, literally ice-cold Guiness, though. The first 3 pictures aren't from St. Patrick's Day actually, but from about one week earlier. Southern Germany was slammed over the first weekend of March with a huge blizzard, dumping over 20 inches on Munich, the most they've seen inside the city in many many years. It caused havoc with the train system, but the city was up and running again fine in a day or so. Towards the end of the week a day of rain washed most if it away, but as you can see, by the next weekend (St. Patrick's Day Festival), it was cold enough to be snowing again!
